How to Dress Up Your Jeans for the Holidays

by Lani Kim

With the holidays near, we’re thinking of all the ways to dress up our favorite closet staple: jeans. Incredibly versatile, a great pair of jeans is one of the easiest foundations to build a perfect outfit—and the holidays are no exception. Add an embellished denim jacket for some extra denim dazzle, or pair your favorite blouse with classic jeans for a stylish going-out look.

We’ll look at some of the best options for dressing up your jeans this holiday season and how to create a signature look with the latest denim trends.

Denim with an unexpected twist

Jeans are a staple in our closet, and it’s always fun to find new ways to experiment and dress them up. For this festive season, we’re mixing up the type of denim we wear. Different by design, our Denim Couture collection takes the pair of classic jeans to another level with distinct, gorgeous designer details like beading, leather and embroidery.

Our wide range of dressier jeans makes it easy to style to suit your taste. Pair them with clean tees and tops and simple jewelry, and you’re ready to go! The White House Black Market High-Rise Rose Embroidered Skinny Jean is one of our teams’ favorites, since they effortlessly work with tees and some cute earrings for a dressy look.

Feel-good denim also adds some interest to your everyday mix. Like our Cashmere Denim. White House Black Market High-Rise Cashmere Denim Skinny Jeans look great with feminine blouses

Switch up black pants for black jeans

The go-to for instant polish, black pants make dressing for parties and events easy (they go with pretty much everything.) This holiday season, why not switch your black pants up with something a little edgier? Our Everlasting Black jean collection has a vast array of styles that can be dressed up or down as needed so you can wear them to different RSVP-worthy events, year after year.

The combination of sparkle and black denim is also fun, festive and unique. Styles like the High-Rise Skinny Celestial Pattern Jeans are perfect for making a cool holiday statement.

For a classically polished, always party-perfect look, we’re also loving simpler denim like the High-Rise Sculpt Black Skinny Jeans this year. Wear with button-down long-sleeved tops and statement accessories for a gorgeous holiday party look.

Jeans of a Different Color

Looking for a conversation-starting pair of jeans? Crafted with recycled materials, our “green jeans” (sustainable denim) is something to talk about. Plus, it feels incredible and fits like a dream.

Brightly colored denim like White House Black Market High-Rise Everyday Soft Denim Skinny Jeans is a great party alternative and pair perfectly with soft neutrals for a festive cocktail and party look. Our High-Rise Coated Skinny Jeans are another gorgeous option from the sustainable range and go with a variety of blouses and tops.

Do more with denim

While we’ve talked a lot about jeans, we haven’t touched on all the other ways to style denim this holiday season.

Adding a denim jacket is always a great way to give your outfit a casual-cool vibe. Our favorite denim jackets include our Editor Blazer with a more flattering, fitted style to go with a variety of blouses.

And if you’re looking for something cute and quirky to style outfits with, our Jeweled Pineapple Espadrille Slides in denim are a perfect choice!
